Quality assurance is about preventing problems, not finding them afterwards. Where quality control checks the product, quality assurance looks after the system that produces it: the procedures, the standards, the suppliers and the evidence that shows a business does what it says it does. We recruit the engineers and managers who build and run those systems.

Roles we recruit

Quality Assurance Engineers and Senior Quality Engineers, Quality Managers and Heads of Quality, Quality Systems Engineers, Supplier Quality Engineers, Customer Quality Engineers, Compliance Managers, Internal and Lead Auditors, and QA Officers.

What a quality assurance engineer or manager does

Runs the quality management system. Writes and maintains the quality manual, procedures and work instructions, and makes sure people follow them.

Keeps the business certified. Holds and extends certification to standards such as ISO 9001, AS9100, IATF 16949, ISO 13485, GMP and BRCGS.

Plans and leads audits. Runs the internal audit programme, hosts customer and certification body audits, and sees corrective actions through to closure.

Manages supply chain quality. Approves and audits suppliers, monitors their performance and works with them to fix recurring problems.

Prevents problems at source. Uses risk assessment, FMEA, control plans and process capability studies to design quality in before production starts.

Solves problems permanently. Leads root cause analysis and corrective and preventive action when something does go wrong, including customer complaints.

Measures and reports. Tracks quality performance, cost of quality and trends, and reports them to senior management.

Trains and leads. Builds quality awareness across the business and drives continuous improvement.

Sectors and standards

Aerospace and defence (AS9100), automotive and motorsport (IATF 16949), medical devices (ISO 13485), pharmaceutical (GMP), food and beverage (BRCGS), and general manufacturing, additive manufacturing, marine and energy (ISO 9001).

How we recruit quality assurance staff

You receive a shortlist of three or four people, typically within one to two weeks, and we interview every candidate before we put them forward. Our lead recruiter has spent over 20 years in measurement and quality, so we can tell the difference between someone who has run a quality system and someone who has worked near one.
