Metrology and measurement recruitment

Sales, service, applications and measurement specialists, recruited by one.

Metrology is the science of measurement. We recruit for both sides of it: the people who measure, and the people who sell, install, program and support the measuring systems. It is specialist work that most recruiters do not understand. Our lead recruiter has spent over 20 years in measurement and quality, including directing the UK subsidiary of a German metrology company.

For metrology equipment manufacturers and distributors

If you make or supply measuring systems, we recruit the commercial and technical people who win the order and keep the customer running.

Technical Sales Engineers and Metrology Sales Engineers. Area and regional sales engineers, key account managers, business development managers and sales managers who sell CMMs, vision and optical systems, scanners, gauging, calibration equipment and metrology software.

Service Engineers and Field Service Engineers. Engineers who install, commission, calibrate, maintain and repair measuring machines on customer sites, including machine moves, retrofits and upgrades.

Applications Engineers. Specialists who run demonstrations and benchmarks, write measurement programs, prove out a solution before the sale, train the customer and hand the system over.

Software and Support Engineers. Metrology software engineers, software support and helpdesk engineers and customer support engineers who solve measurement and software problems for customers, on site and remotely.

Managers. Service managers, applications managers, sales directors and general managers for UK metrology businesses.

For manufacturers who measure

If you measure what you make, we recruit the people in your inspection room, laboratory and production line.

Metrologists and Metrology Engineers. People who decide how something should be measured and can say how far the result can be trusted.

CMM Programmers and CMM Operators. Programming and running coordinate measuring machines against the drawing and its GD&T.

Calibration Engineers and Calibration Technicians. Keeping instruments traceable to national standards, often in a UKAS-accredited laboratory working to ISO 17025.

Metrology Managers and Measurement Engineers. Leading the measurement function, including measurement systems analysis, gauge R&R and uncertainty.

Types of measurement we cover

Dimensional. Size, form, position and surface finish, using CMMs, laser trackers, measurement arms, optical and vision systems, 3D scanners, CT scanning and hand gauges.

Torque and force. Torque tools, transducers, load cells and test rigs.

Temperature. Thermocouples, probes, ovens, furnaces and environmental chambers.

Pressure, mass and electrical. Gauges, balances and electrical instruments.

Where these people work

Metrology equipment manufacturers and distributors, calibration laboratories, and manufacturers in aerospace, defence, automotive, motorsport, medical devices, pharmaceutical, additive manufacturing, marine and energy.

How we recruit metrology staff

You receive a shortlist of three or four people, typically within one to two weeks, and we interview every candidate before we put them forward. Because we know the equipment, the software and the market, we ask a sales engineer, service engineer or metrologist the questions a hiring manager would.
